ABSTRACT:

A new species of the genus Diodontolaimus Southern, 1914 that belongs to the family Leptolaimidae, collected from muddy sediments to Sandspit beach is described and illustrated. Diodontolaimus karachiensisn. sp., is characterized by the shape and structure of spicules and gubernaculum, transversely oval amphids situated between the cephalic setae; buccal cavity cylindrical with cuticularized walls; two subventral teeth in buccal cavity and one precloacal papilla. It comes close to Diodontolaimus tenuispiculum Gerlach, 1955 but differs from it in body length in ‘c’ value; in longer spicules and gubernaculum.
