ABSTRACT:
Steinernema carpocapsae, a new isolate was recovered during a survey of native entomopathogenic nematode in soil samples from agricultural fields of banana at Thatta, Sindh. This isolate was extracted by Galleria baiting technique, identified on the basis of morphological observation and molecular studies. Stinernema carpocapsae is characterized genetically by re-sequence of ITs region ITS1.5.8s.ITS2 (sequence length = 9866p) Molecular studies (ITS region of rDNA sequencing) and morphological observation are similar to S. carpocapsae but some difference in size, shape of spicule etc, are present in Pakistani isolate.
