ABSTRACT:
Performance based analysis methods are performed to understand the behavior of the structures under earthquake. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the performance of the R/C frame structures by using capacity spectrum method as one of the performance based design methodology. With this aim, 3, 5, 8 and 15-story R/C frame structures were chosen. The pushover analyses were conducted for these frame structures under triangular and rectangular lateral load distributions to drawn the capacity spectrum curves. The Capacity Spectrum Curves are plotted to compare with demand spectrum. Earthquake ground motions recorded at eight stations during various earthquakes overall the world are used in the analyses. It is determined the performance points of frame structures with capacity spectrums and demand spectrums.
