ABSTRACT:
Surplus part of the coal generated by the mining operations must be stored. Economic and environmental problems occur during storage in coal. The biggest problem is the spontaneous ombustion of coal in stockpile. To avoid this problem, many studies have been carried out. In this study, tests were conducted on two different coal stockpiles with different surface colors at Konya Cement Factory coal stockpile. Stacks were formed 4 m of width, 3 m of height and 6 m of length. The coal stockpile which outer surface is covered with lime was called white (BYK), the black surface was created with the original version was called SYK. BYK was created to determine the effect on the spontaneous combustion of the white surface. Effect of changes in internal heating of the existing coal stockpile was examined by geographically surface temperatures and sunlight on the western side of stockpile.
Key Words: Spontaneous combustion of coal, internal heating
