ABSTRACT:
Histopathological studies revealed that Meloidogyne javanica larvae penetrated roots of jujube by a puncturing action of the stylet and caused giant cell formation. Massive cell bodies formation was observed. Egg masses were also observed on infected roots. Nematode damage to root cells resulted in killing of feeder roots and ultimately effected plant growth.
