ABSTRACT:

Experiments were carried out to find the inter-relationship between Meloidogyne incognita root-knot nematode and soil fungi infesting tomato. Fungal bio-agents viz., Aspergillus nidulans var. dentatus, A. terreus, A. niger and Trichoderma viride suppressed both M. incognita root-knot nematode and the pathogenic fungus Rhizoctonia solani. Knowledge of the plant microbes interaction of the affected area would help increasing the yield either through change of crop and / or non-chemical methods like fungal bio-agents isolated from that area.
