ABSTRACT:

Stabilizer rods which component of the vehicle suspension system; balancing the forces generated during vehicle’s rotation left and right prevents the vehicle’s pitching with stabilizer bars. Stabilizer rod occurring ball joints at both ends and can be loaded link axis direction. These parts operating performance and strength is important under dynamic loads has a role for the safety-critical. In this paper, the impact of one of the operating performance criteria of the ball joint clearances on the strength of the stabilizer rod is investigated. For this purpose, data acquisition studies have been carried on the vehicle to determine the stabilizer bar’s stress values. These collected data processed and loads affected to stabilizer rods generated. Stabilizer rods with different clearances have been tested with these loads and they have been tested until last strength point. The experimental validation studies and examining the test results obtained, the impact of the clearances on the stabilizer rod strength is specified.
