ABSTRACT:

The study area located the Hatunsaray and Çatören settlements in the southwestern part of the Konya. The north part of the study area forming Mesozoic aged units from bottom to top autochthonous Bolkardağı Unit comprises Jurassic- Cretaceous Lorasdağı limestone and Upper Cretaceous Midostepe formation, the south part of the study area forming Mesozoic aged units from bottom to top autochthonous Geyikdağı Unit, Jurassic-Cretaceous aged Hacıalabaz limestone, Upper Cretaceous Saytepe and Alan formations.
In the region, the autochthonous units were tectonically obducted by an Upper Cretaceous ophiolitic melange known as “Hatip ophiolitic melange”. These paleotectonic units in the region were underlain an angular unconformity by neotectonic units. These units are Tertiary and Quaternary aged, Dilekçi group, Topraklı formation and alluvion.
In the region, the units’ relationships, ages and environment interpretations determine with field and laboratory observations. It has been discussed that the units that defining before contribute to determine at the section observations detailed studies of Central Taurides’ stratigraphy. The differences and similarities of Mesozoic units were determined. These differences and similarities is important because of evaluating geology history of Central Taurides.
In the study area in the Central Taurides representing the northern part loking at to the “Anatolidler” side of the “Toridler” main tectonic unit, the folded, fractured and napped tectonical structures have been occurred under the strengthly compressionel tectonic regime during the paleotectonic Alpin activities. Therefore, in the region, common folding structures mostly extending to nearly NE-SW striking have been formed as a result of the metioned tectonic activities.
