ABSTRACT:
The concept of public interest is examined in the study. The main emphasis of the discussion is that coastal areas are public goods and they should be used for public interest. There is also analysis about how the concept has been perceived up to now. In this frame, the meaning and content of the public interest concept, which provide continuously changing for the public necessities is viewed. At the end of the study, inadequacies of Coastal legislation are interrogated with criteria, which explain how public interest can be provided in using of coastal areas.
